MRI client with lesions, joint pain and muscle weakness

MRI / NSF Client # 2225 - 40-50 yr old Female

 

Client does not have any known kidney or liver problems. She has had 3-4 MRIs with contrast done over the last 7-8 years.  The last one was done 1 -2 years ago. She has lesions at the base of her scalp and her skin texture there is bumpy.  She began developing severe joint pain in her ankles 6 months ago.  She also has muscle weakness in her arms, muscle contractures in her right thigh and her hands, and pain in her ribs.  She states that the muscle in her right thigh has become dimpled/dented. Client is meeting with her doctors to discuss MRI & Gadolinium and whether a punch biopsy test is necessary or not.

NOTE: As of January 1, 2008, no MRI Dye Recall has been ordered by the FDA. FDA warning Reglan may cause Tardive Dyskinesia (TD) a rare side effect of long time Reglan usage. Reglan has been linked to Tardive Dyskinesia. Tardive Dyskinesia is a disorder characterized by involuntary movements of the arms and legs as well as facial twitching, frowns twitching of the face and tongue similar to Parkinsons disease.
